The Natal Check is so much more than a standard postnatal check.
Our facilities and equipment are unrivalled and our staff are advanced pelvic health physios, founders of @everything-natal and Mummy MOT trained.

Whether you have had a vaginal or Caesarian birth, our natal checks help to optimise recovery in the postnatal period. You may have lots of questions relating to recovery and what you are physically able to do. Doing the wrong types of exercise can lead to more harm than good. It is recommended to have a check approximately 6 weeks after the birth of your baby, but the check can still be useful much later on. if you are struggling, we highly recommend you come sooner rather than later.

What happens during a postpartum physio check?

The session can last up to an hour. An advanced physiotherapist trained in pelvic health will check your posture, lower back and pelvis, tummy muscles (checking for gapping and using real time ultrasound to see your muscles if necessary).
Within our sessions we can use abdominal ultrasound to check your tummy muscles and transperineal ultrasound to observe your pelvic floor and check for pelvic organ prolapse.

We can use electromyography on your pelvic floor in a non invasive position.

Your individual concerns, aims and objectives will be addressed within the session. Please note we will not be able to offer an internal pelvic floor examination if you are less than 6 weeks. You are also able to bring a chaperone to your appointment if you would like to.

This is a 2 part appointment with the first assessment being 60 mins and includes a full pelvic health and prolapse assessment. A review appointment is then booked in a few weeks later. Both appointments and one pessary are included in the price.

What happens during the appointment?

This may involve using half a speculum to examine the prolapse and also real time ultrasound on the perineum to see the position of the pelvic organs and the effectiveness of the pelvic floor muscles in supporting the pelvic organs.
A Pessary fitting and practice of removal of pessary is performed on the day
A follow on appointment will be approx 2 weeks after fitting.

This appointment includes up to one pessary. Many women find that they need to trial a couple of pessaries to get the perfect fit. Additional pessaries are prices at £70.
A women's health follow on appointment every 3-6 months will then be required to check the health of your tissues and discuss your symptoms.

Studies show that pessary placement in women is mainly well accepted with high success, improving quality of life and preventing surgery. It is important to remember that there are a small amount of women that have no success with them and a pessary will not produce the desired effect.

A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, I’ve been dancing since childhood, starting at my mom’s dance studio, and eventually at institutions like the Martha Graham Dance Studio and Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Inspired by dance icons like Martha Graham and Bob Fosse, I embarked on a dance career and later teaching. Joseph Pilates’s method was so well known in the dance world that training in his method felt like a natural progression. I obtained my comprehensive Pilates certification in Miami, FL at the internationally recognized Polestar Pilates. Here I learned about the power of positive movement for every body.

I’ve worked with elite athletes, clients with joint replacements, cancer survivors, Parkinsons disease as well as my mom who, years before her passing, was diagnosed with Progressive Supra Nuclear Palsy. A full circle moment. Working with my mom was challenging and emotional, but a gift. Throughout her life and health struggles, she taught me compassion, patience, and the ability to connect with people on a personal and human level.

Pittsburgh, NYC, South Florida, and the shores of Cyprus, I’ve shared my passion for movement with students worldwide. Now settled in Liverpool with my family, we’re immersing ourselves in Scouse culture while I eagerly bring my experience to the Physiotherapy Centre, blending tradition with innovation in every step and maybe a little jazz hands too!

Hi, I’m Gary Dobson. I’m a physiotherapist with a specialist interest in spinal & lower limb injuries. I also enjoy treating running and endurance sport related injuries.

I have a background of working in football, including elite level football and working with a spinal specialist service. My experience has helped make me the physio (person) I am now.

Like my work related interests, my social interests are similar. I run (5k through to ultra marathon distances) cycle & hike. If I had time for triathlon or Ironman events, I would love this too, but I don’t think that would go down too well with my family. Football has now, unfortunately, been curtailed of late though injury. Therefore, you will always have an empathetic ear and a willingness to help you achieve all your rehabilitation goals with me

I am physiotherapist with an interest in Paediatric Musculoskeletal conditions and Youth Sport. I graduated with a First-Class Honors from the University of Birmingham. I had known for a long time before graduating that I wanted to work with Children and Young People (CYP) so sought a Paediatric MSK job almost straight from University. I am a firm believer that “Children aren’t little adults”, they become injured for different reasons and need managing differently to adults to achieve their best outcomes.

I currently work at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital as a Rotational Physiotherapist where I have gained skills in rehabilitating children with Cerebral Palsy following Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery, paediatric orthopaedics and Paediatric Intensive Care.

I previously competed at a high level in athletics and cross country, which has helped me to understand the nature of elite level sport, and the mindset held by successful athletes - in particular runners. I am passionate about helping children and young people return to the things that they love, whether that is sports or walking the dog.
